Donald Trump said in a post on Truth Social that the United States is weakening the Iranian regime through both military action and economic pressure.

Donald Trump has issued a threat to Iranian leaders—whom he dubbed “crazy thugs”—warning them to “watch what happens,” as the U.S. has launched heavy bombardments against military bases on Kharg Island, Tehran’s key oil hub. Live Updates.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump stated that the U.S. is “destroying” the Iranian regime, both “militarily and economically.” He added that eliminating Iranian leaders is a matter of “honor” for him.
“Iran’s Navy is gone, their Air Force no longer exists; their missiles, drones, and everything else are being wiped out, and the names of their leaders have been erased from the face of the earth. We possess unmatched firepower, unlimited ammunition, and plenty of time—watch what happens to these crazy thugs today. For 47 years, they have been killing innocent people across the globe, and now I—as the 47th President of the United States of America—am eliminating them. What a tremendous honor it is to do so!” he wrote.
Until now, the U.S. and Israel had been proceeding cautiously around Kharg Island; however, reports suggest that U.S. officials have indicated that a potential occupation of the island is currently under consideration.
This island serves as a vital energy hub for Iran and stands as one of its most critical export points for crude oil.
The majority of Tehran’s oil production originates from facilities located on this island within the Persian Gulf.
According to Trump, the U.S. military was capable of destroying the island’s energy infrastructure—which he termed Iran’s “crown jewel”—but “they decided not to do so.” Trump stated, “Our weapons are the most powerful and advanced weapons the world has ever seen; however, out of decency, I decided not to obliterate the oil infrastructure on the island.”
Nevertheless, he warned that this decision could be reversed if Iran were to interfere with the free and safe passage of vessels through the Strait of Hormuz.
Trump on Ending the War with Iran
Although the Trump administration has sent mixed signals regarding the timeline of the escalating conflict with Iran, the U.S. president stated that it would conclude only when he “feels it in his bones.”
Speaking to Fox News Radio, Trump was asked about the timeline of the war.
He replied, “Well, it won’t take very long. But as for when it will end, only I will know—when I feel it; when I feel it in my bones.”
However, he added that “if necessary,” the conflict could continue indefinitely.
The war began on February 28, when the U.S. and Israel jointly launched airstrikes against Iran following stalled nuclear negotiations and claims that Tehran had resumed its nuclear activities.
These attacks—dubbed ‘Operation Epic Fury’—targeted several Iranian cities, including the capital, Tehran, and resulted in the deaths of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, his wife, daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughter.

‘God Rid Us of the Cancer’
Earlier this week, reports emerged that Trump participated in a virtual meeting with G7 leaders, who urged him to bring the conflict with Iran to a swift conclusion and expressed concerns regarding its economic repercussions.
According to a report by Axios, during the discussion, Trump told the G7 leaders that he had “gotten rid of a cancer”—referencing the assassinations of several Iranian leaders—and asserted that Tehran was “about to surrender.”
Trump reportedly stated, “I got rid of that cancer, which was a threat to us all.”
However, he claimed that Iran could not formally announce a surrender because “no one knows who the leader is.”
