According to leaked audio obtained by The Telegraph, Iran’s newly appointed Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, survived a US-Israeli attack in which his father and other family members were killed. He escaped death by mere minutes, having left the compound on an errand just moments before the explosion occurred.
The audio revealed further gruesome details regarding the attack, stating that Iran’s military chief was reduced to “a few kilos of flesh,” while Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s son-in-law had his head split in two.
The leaked recording is attributed to a senior official within the office of the late Ayatollah Ali Khamenei; it provides a comprehensive account of the attack that took place on February 28—an incident that claimed the lives of Iran’s former Supreme Leader, several members of his family, and other senior figures within Iran’s Islamic regime.
How Mojtaba Khamenei Cheated Death
According to the report, the attack on the Khamenei compound occurred at 9:32 AM local time—an event described as a calculated attempt to simultaneously eliminate both the Khamenei family and Iran’s senior leadership.
Hosseini stated that 56-year-old Mojtaba Khamenei had stepped out into the courtyard shortly before the attack; when the building was struck, he was making his way upstairs.
Reports indicate that he sustained “only minor injuries to his leg” in the attack—an incident in which his wife, Zahra Haddad-Adel, and his son were killed instantly.

The recording also details the deaths of other individuals within the compound, including Ali Khamenei’s son-in-law, Mesbah al-Huda Bagheri Kani, whose head was found split in two by the force of the impact.
Hosseini added that the attacks struck multiple sections of the office complex simultaneously, including residences associated with several members of the Khamenei family.
