Debris from an Iranian projectile that was intercepted hit a tower in Dubai Marina on Saturday, causing smoke to rise from the building’s facade.

On Saturday, debris from an Iranian projectile hit a tower in Dubai Marina, causing smoke to billow from its facade.
The Dubai government quickly confirmed the incident, saying that air defense systems successfully intercepted the incoming projectile, but the falling debris caused minor damage to the exterior of a building in the Marina.
The Dubai government’s official media handle posted on X, “Authorities have confirmed that debris from a successful interception caused a minor incident in front of a tower in Dubai Marina. The situation has been brought under control. No injuries have been reported.”
Earlier, the United Arab Emirates’ Ministry of Defense said in a post on X, “Air defense is currently responding to missile and drone threats coming from Iran.”
The statement further added, “The sounds heard are the result of air defense systems intercepting missiles and drones.”
According to the ministry, a total of 16 ballistic missiles were detected on Saturday, of which 15 were shot down, while one fell into the sea. Of the 121 drones tracked, 119 were destroyed.
UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan earlier delivered a public address on Abu Dhabi TV, speaking directly to his country for the first time since the fighting escalated.
He said, “The country is in a state of war,” and added, “We will emerge stronger.”
Earlier, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian apologized to neighboring countries for attacks carried out during its conflict with Israel and the United States—but said Tehran would not attack “unless they attack first.”
During a speech on Iranian state TV, Pezeshkian said, “On my behalf and on behalf of Iran, I must apologize to the neighboring countries that Iran attacked. The Interim Leadership Council agreed yesterday that there will be no further attacks on neighboring countries and no missiles will be launched unless Iran is attacked from those countries.”
Responding to Trump’s demand for unconditional surrender on Friday, Pezeshkian said that Iran’s enemies “should take to their graves their desire for the unconditional surrender of the Iranian people.”
Following the collapse of nuclear talks and Iran’s claims of resuming nuclear activity, the US and Israel carried out joint airstrikes across Iran on February 28.
These attacks, dubbed “Operation Epic Fury,” targeted several Iranian cities, including the capital, Tehran, and killed Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, his wife, daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughter.
