An AFP reporter saw black smoke rising from the US Embassy in Kuwait City on Monday following new Iranian attacks.
Sirens sounded in the city following the latest spate of Iranian attacks that began in the oil-rich Gulf region on Saturday.
The embassy did not confirm whether it had been attacked but issued a security alert urging people to stay away.
The statement said, “Kuwait remains under threat of missile and UAV attacks. Do not approach the embassy.”
Kuwait’s Interior Ministry said it intercepted several drones targeting the small, oil-rich country early in the morning.
Kuwait’s Health Ministry said on Sunday that one person was killed and 32 others were injured in Iranian retaliatory strikes. The attacks came after the killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader in US-Israeli attacks.
