This album marks a historic moment, as the Tibetan spiritual leader and Nobel Peace Prize laureate, His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, received his first Grammy Award at the age of 90. Meditations: The Reflections of His Holiness the Dalai Lama won the award in the Best Audiobook, Narration, and Storytelling Recording category.

Speaking about the award, His Holiness the Dalai Lama said, “I accept this recognition with gratitude and humility. I see it not as a personal honor but as a recognition of our shared responsibility. I truly believe that peace, compassion, care for our environment, and an understanding of the oneness of humanity are essential for the well-being of all eight billion human beings. I am grateful that this Grammy recognition can help spread these messages even further.”

Ustad Amjad Ali Khan said, “As a family, we are deeply honored to share this collaboration with His Holiness the Dalai Lama.”

Amaan Ali Bangash added, “Listening to His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s thoughts set to music has been a truly moving experience—a reminder of the immense power of art to uplift the human spirit. Creating this project with our dear friend Kabir Sehgal has been both a joy and a privilege.”
