In a memo released by the administration on Monday, White House physician Sean Barbabella noted that the cardiovascular and abdominal scans conducted during the visit revealed no issues of concern.

The White House on Monday released detailed medical findings from US President Donald Trump’s physician, confirming that an MRI performed during his October checkup showed no abnormalities and was done only as a precaution.
The revelation came in response to weeks of questions about the US president’s unexpected visit to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center on October 10.
Trump himself first revealed on October 27 that he had undergone an MRI, calling the test “perfect”—a comment that prompted further scrutiny of his scan, as the procedure was not listed in the administration’s initial summary of his physical report.
In a memo released by the administration on Monday, White House physician Sean Barbella said that cardiovascular scans and abdominal imaging performed during the visit revealed nothing concerning.
“Overall, his cardiovascular system is in very good shape. His abdominal imaging is also completely normal. All major organs are very healthy and functioning well,” Barbella said.
He said the scans were part of routine medical monitoring. “The purpose of these imaging tests is preventative: to detect problems early, confirm overall health, and ensure that he continues to have energy and function long-term. President Trump’s cardiovascular imaging is completely normal.”
Barbabella added that the results showed “no evidence of arterial narrowing or abnormalities that obstruct blood flow to the heart or major vessels.
The heart chambers are normal in size, the vessel walls appear smooth and healthy, and there are no signs of inflammation or clotting. Overall, his cardiovascular system appears to be in excellent health.”
Press Secretary Caroline Levitt read a separate statement from Trump’s doctor on Dec. 1, emphasizing that the MRI is part of a standard executive-level screening.
“Men of his age benefit from a thorough evaluation of heart and abdominal health,” the statement said. It added that “this level of detailed evaluation is standard for an executive physical of President Trump’s age.”
Barbabella noted in his memo that “his abdominal examination is also completely normal” and reiterated that “everything evaluated is functioning within normal limits and there are no acute or chronic concerns.”
