NASA Artemis II astronaut captures a breathtaking view of Earth from space, saying it’s truly beyond words
This will be the first occasion in over five decades that a NASA mission sends astronauts to orbit the Moon.

In a moment that captured both wonder and history, an astronaut on NASA’s new lunar mission shared a simple yet powerful message while gazing at Earth from space.
Reid Wiseman, a member of the Artemis II mission, shared a post on X in which he marveled at the beauty of Earth, stating that it is beyond words.
“No words,” he wrote.
On Thursday night, astronauts aboard NASA’s Artemis II mission fired their engines and set course for the Moon, breaking free from the confines that have kept humans restricted to Earth’s orbit since the Apollo missions.
This marks the first time in over 50 years that astronauts on a NASA mission will orbit the Moon, as the Orion spacecraft successfully completed its main engine burn.
After activating the spacecraft’s service module engine during the trans-lunar injection burn—which lasted approximately six minutes on Thursday—Orion and its crew—Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Jeremy Hansen—accelerated to exit Earth’s orbit and commence their journey toward our planet’s closest neighbor.
