Israeli airstrikes have struck Tehran’s Gandhi Hospital, and footage shows the destruction inside
The event took place on the second day of a combined U.S.–Israeli military operation against Iran that began after earlier strikes killed Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

According to Reuters, an Israeli airstrike targeted Gandhi Hospital in northern Tehran on Sunday.
The incident occurred on the second day of a joint US-Israeli military campaign against Iran, following the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in earlier attacks.
Iran’s ISNA news agency said the hospital was hit by a “Zionist-American airstrike.”
Separate reports from the Fars and Mizan news agencies included video footage from inside the hospital, showing debris strewn on the floor near wheelchairs.
Two witnesses from the Gandhi Street area told Reuters that the hospital suffered significant damage and patients had been evacuated.
The attacks were part of an operation that continued into Sunday night, with explosions also reported in Tehran.
Israel has announced that it is carrying out attacks on central areas of the Iranian capital. In response, Iran launched missiles and drones at Israel, US military bases in the Gulf region, the Saudi capital, and Dubai.
Earlier that day, Iran appointed a 66-year-old cleric to a three-member leadership council tasked with running the country until a new supreme leader is elected.
The council includes President Masoud Pezeshkian, Judiciary Head Gholam Hossein Mohseni Ejehi, and Ayatollah Ali Reza Arafi. Pezeshkian confirmed on state television that the council had begun its work.
Brigadier General Efi Defrin, a spokesperson for the Israel Defense Forces, said in a briefing that 100 fighter jets simultaneously attacked government sites in Tehran.
Targets included structures belonging to Iran’s Air Force, Missile Command, and Internal Security Forces, which suppressed protests in January.
