Indian airlines prepare to launch Middle East operations amid the ongoing Iran crisis
According to the Ministry of Civil Aviation, IndiGo is set to run 10 special relief flights from Jeddah to India as part of efforts linked to the Iran-Israel conflict.

Domestic airlines announced today that they plan to operate special relief flights from the Middle East to facilitate the return of passengers stranded due to the escalating conflict between the US, Israel, and Iran.
According to the Ministry of Civil Aviation, IndiGo plans to operate 10 special relief flights from Jeddah to India.
SpiceJet announced that it will operate four special flights from the UAE today to bring back Indian citizens stranded there following the sudden airspace closure.
The airline will operate these special services from Fujairah to three Indian cities—Delhi, Mumbai, and Kochi— including two flights to Mumbai, to ensure passengers can return home as quickly as possible.
In addition to these special services, SpiceJet will resume scheduled flights between Fujairah and Delhi and between Fujairah and Mumbai from March 4, helping to normalize connectivity between the UAE and India.
On Monday night, a plane from Abu Dhabi arrived in New Delhi carrying passengers stranded due to tensions in the Middle East.
An Emirates flight from Dubai landed safely at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport this morning.
The return of passengers comes days after Iranian drones and missiles reportedly targeted parts of the region, temporarily halting airport operations.
Thousands of Indians stranded in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) faced difficulties as flights were cancelled and airspace was closed in parts of the Middle East.
PM Modi spoke to the King of Jordan
Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to His Majesty King Abdullah II, the King of Jordan, on Monday and reaffirmed India’s support for the “peace, security, and well-being” of the Jordanian people.
The PM expressed concern over the “evolving situation” in the Middle East and thanked His Majesty for taking care of Indians in Jordan during these “difficult times.”
In a post on X, the PM wrote, “Spoke to His Majesty King Abdullah II, the King of Jordan. Expressed our deep concern over the evolving situation in the region. We reiterate our support for peace, security, and the well-being of the Jordanian people. I thanked him for taking care of the Indian community in Jordan during these difficult times.”
